Welcoming Dr. Weidi Chen to Cocoon Acupuncture

A very warm and heartfelt welcome to the beautiful Dr. Weidi Chen, who will be joining us at Cocoon Acupuncture this year. How lucky we all are to have her to guide us with her extensive expertise in healthcare.

Dr. Weidi joins us at the Drouin clinic having grown up in a small village in China. Throughout her childhood, she often visited a folk healer, who would help friends and family using thin needles and herbs to alleviate complaints. At home, she would watch on as her grandmother alleviated symptoms such as high fever and pain using cupping, gua-sha and bleeding techniques. This sparked curiosity, fascination and a love for Traditional Chinese Medicine- which she read about extensively from a very young age. Initially pursuing a career in Western nursing, she always held a love for Chinese Medicine and knew that she would return to her roots, combining both her knowledge of Western Medicine as a registered nurse and her passion for Chinese Medicine.

Weidi is a highly skilled and licensed Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner, who trained at Endeavour College of Natural Health (graduating with distinction). She is also a registered nurse who frequents the ICU, Cardiac and the Emergency Wards. She is compassionate, friendly, committed and knowledgeable. Weidi loves research and strives to further her knowledge by examining the latest research, as well as attending professional events. She is proud to be a member of the Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association (AACMA).

A message from Weidi:

‘I believe the human body has the infinite ability to regulate itself and acupuncture facilitates this natural healing process without serious side effects. I have a strong interest in helping with a wide range of internal health concerns and particularly passionate about what Chinese Medicine has to offer conditions such as headaches, migraines, frozen shoulder, weight loss, digestive orders, psychological wellbeing, women’s health, fertility and pregnancy support. A special saying that I hold close- The very beginning mind itself is the most accomplished mind of true enlightenment’.

When she’s not nursing or practicing in clinic, you’ll find Weidi exploring her loves of the world- travelling, cooking, dancing, gardening, meeting people or practicing yoga. Above all else, in her down time, Weidi absolutely adores reading (in Mandarin of course!).

If you are interested in meeting Dr. Weidi at Cocoon Acupuncture or have any other enquiries- drop her a line via the website contact form, email or phone reception.
