Hi, I’m Jay, an acupuncturist and Doctor of Chinese Medicine, practicing out of Cocoon Acupuncture in Drouin, Victoria. My passion is helping people achieve better health and well-being by blending the wisdom of Chinese medicine with the precision of Western medical science.
Before becoming an acupuncturist, I spent almost 20 years in the emergency services sector, working in both the ambulance and police service. I was also a Registered Paramedic in the event medical sector, and worked in emergency management at the Department of Health. Those experiences gave me a deep understanding of the human body and the importance of compassionate, effective care in moments of crisis. It also taught me how to think on my feet and adapt to the unique needs of each person I work with. I also feel my western medical knowledge is intertwined into my practice, allowing for a more diverse and broad way of thinking and treating.
I have a special interest in mental health, chronic pain, anatomy and physiology and infectious diseases. Whether I’m addressing physical pain, managing stress and anxiety, or helping patients navigate complex health challenges, I tailor treatments to the individual to ensure they achieve the best possible results.
One of the most rewarding parts of my career has been finding innovative ways to support people in need. I helped create partnerships between health services and law enforcement in Gippsland to provide care for those experiencing mental health crises. I bring that same dedication and problem-solving mindset to my practice every day.
If you’re looking for someone to listen, understand, and work with you to improve your health, I’d be honored to help. Together, we can create a plan to help you feel your best and thrive.
